Jo Unwin runs JULA – a dynamic literary agency that represents bestselling and debut authors. Prior to becoming an agent, Jo had a career as an actress and television script writer (writing credits include Byker Grove and My Parents are Aliens). Her move into publishing started with a stint as a book scout for Aardman animated features, moving on to become a bookseller, and finally becoming an agent at Conville and Walsh in 2008. Within three years of coming into the industry she was nominated as a Bookseller Rising Star and was shortlisted as Literary Agent of the Year in 2011 and 2019. In 2013, she set up JULA and her growing team is now based in Somerset House. Jo’s authors include Nina Stibbe, Jenny Colgan, Candice Carty-Williams, Richard Ayoade, Charlie Brooker, Cathy Rentzenbrink and Primadonna's own Kit de Waal.
